ADULT HOCKEY LEAGUES

Whether you’re just starting out or have played Pro we have a league for you. The new season starts the first September and goes through to December. Game schedules, scores and stats are kept using POINTSTREAK. Pointstreak is an external link under the Hockey Tab on our website or you can search our leagues on the Pointstreak website or download the their app.

USA Hockey Membership is required!

New Players

If you are new to the Ellenton area it is important to speak to our Adult Hockey Director Trevor before signing up. Trevor can point you in the right direction, let you know how full each league is and if there is room as well as give a detailed idea of the level of each league. He is very knowledgeable about the game, our teams and is on a first name basis with our players.

How to “sign up” your team

  • Go to Ellentonice.com
  • Click on Schedule/Registration
  • Hover over the registration tab
  • Move down to League Registration
  • Click on desired league
  • You’ll be prompted to create an account or login
  • Fill out information including team name and roster
  • Print out the printable waiver and have your teammates fill it out, sign it and hand it in with their USA Hockey on the first night they play
  • Choose payment plan or pay in full
  • Submit

*If you wish to pay in cash you will be required to pay in full at the front desk

D League

This league is for players who are just starting out. If you have always wanted to play hockey, but didn’t know how to get started, begin with Tony’s Clinic and then move up to the D League.

C League

A mixture of mid-level players seeking more competition than the D League. Typically players in this league may have played a few years in their youth at the rec level or started out as an adult, but have been playing for a year or more.

B League

A mixture of B and high level C League players. This league is for the player that is a little more experienced that has been playing hockey for a number of years with an intermediate skill set.

  • Game Times are approximate and depend on amount of Teams: 7:00pm, 7:45pm & 8:30pm

30+ B League Tier 2

The 30+ Lower division is for players 30 years of age or older who are at the C and or D level.

  • League Length: 17 Weeks includes playoffs
  • End Date:  May 1st includes playoffs
  • Game times: 8:15 & 9:45
  • Day we don’t host games: N/A

30+ C Tier 3

The 30+ C division is for players 30 years of age or older who are at the C and/or D level. This league is fast paced and for the intermediate level

  • League Length: 16 Weeks includes playoffs
  • End date: April 25th includes playoffs
  • Game Times are approximate and depend on amount of Teams: 8:15pm & 9:45pm

40+CD Lower Draft League

40+ Lower division is for players who are intermediate to lower level players and are 40 years of age or older. Must be 39 by January 8th. 1st payment guarantees placement on a team! Make your 1st payment by December 21st and get the Early Bird Discount.

40+ Upper

The 40+ Upper division is for players 40 years of age or older who are at the A and or B level.

Eligibility

You can play up, but you can’t play down. We like to give all players the opportunity to play twice a week in appropriate leagues for their level. Hence we have designed a schedule to best facilitate players needs. Final rosters are approved by all captains of a particular league and the rink.

Advanced A players can only play A/B

High B can play in A/B, low B can play in B and C

Cs can play in C and B

D can play in C, but Cs cannot play down in D

30+A can play in – 30+A, A/B

30+B can play in – 30+B, C, D

40+A can play in – 40+A, 30+A, A/B

40+B can play in – 40+B, 30+B, C, D

League Rules 

All USA Hockey Rules must be followed and will be enforced!

All players must have current USA Hockey Membership. USA Hockey Membership expires August 31 so all participants including subs must submit their USA Hockey before their first game of the season.

Games

  • Must be 18 to play in an Adult Hockey League
  • 2 USA Hockey Certified Refs are scheduled for each game
  • 1hr 15min allotted to each game. includes warm up
  • 3 Periods
  • 14 Minute stop time
  • 2 Minute penalties
  • All USA Hockey rules apply
  • Teams with 50 minutes or more in penalties within one season will NOT be eligible for Playoffs.

Overtime

  • 5 Minute run time
  • 4 on 4 Sudden death
  • If the game is not resolved at the end of 5 minutes run time there will be a 3 player shoot out. Game is over after shootout no matter what.

Subs

  • Subs must be USA Hockey Members and must turn paper version with bar code into reception prior to game
  • Teams can sub up to the same amount of players the opposing team has that game
  • Players signed up in a current Ellenton Ice Adult League pay $15 to sub, players not enrolled in an Ellenton Ice Adult League are $25 no matter what
  • Subs must give receipt to score keeper or team forfeits game
  • Subs must be approved by opposing team’s Captain or team forfeits

Playoffs

  • 4 Teams
    • 1 vs 4
    • 2 vs 3
    • Winner of 1 vs 4 plays winner of 2 vs 3
    • Second game will be made up of consolation players
  • 5 Teams
    • 4th and 5th place teams will play an elimination game. Winner will take 4th seed in the Playoffs
    • Playoffs will continue like a 4 team Playoff
  • 6 Teams
    • Week 1
      • 1st and 2nd in points play consolation game
      • 3 vs 6
      • 4 vs 5
    • Week 2
      • Winner of 3 vs 6 plays ______________________
      • Winner of 4 vs 5 plays ______________________
      • Consolation game for other teams
    • Week 3
      • Championship Game
      • Loser of 3 vs 6 and 2nd place plays loser of the 4 vs 5 and 1st place
      • Consolation game of remaining players
